About you:
  • You can implement long-term plans, according to set budgets and goals.
  • You have knowledge about the Austrian “Arbeitsrecht”, about rights and obligations of co-workers, and how to mediate the relationship between co-workers, employing entities, trade unions and the government.
  • You bring a solid foundation of Human Resource Management either through your studies or work experience.
  • You can introduce co-workers to IKEA, the team and work activities in an effective and performance-enhancing way.
  • You know how to anticipate, identify and develop potential successors for key positions in IKEA.
  • You know different leadership styles as well as their appropriate use for different situations.
  • You can communicate fluently in German and English.
Key responsibilities (title) What you'll be doing day to dayKey responsibilities (text) You are part of the store management team and together with your People&Culture team, consisting of 2 P&C Generalists and 2 People Planning Specialists, you:
  • Ensure the people strategy, global principles/guidelines and relevant business plans are localized and operationally implemented and lived up to.
  • Ensure delivery of learning & training in your store, supported by the P&C Generalist and Learning Delivery Specialist.
  • Ensure local employer communication is consistent, well perceived and builds on the IKEA brand.
  • Secure an up-to-date succession process and plan by influencing the managers in taking the lead with special focus on developing talents and high-performing potentials.
  • Be a good example of IKEA leadership in ways that express the IKEA values within and outside IKEA, and together with the Market Managers help to safeguard and promote the IKEA Culture.
  • Responsible for implementation of co-worker relations plan that effectively manages all local interactions with co-workers and ensures that all areas in the unit work with the labor relations principles and uphold local policies, procedures and laws.
  • Together with the Business Navigation and Operations Manager, you are responsible for the distribution of budget hours between the unit departments, according to the need of the business and the co-worker.

The site is in a very attractive retail location, connected to the train station Vienna Westbahnhof. The store is on 5 floors plus 2 levels underground. Apart from IKEA the building has on ground floor few smaller retailers and hosts a hostel on the top two floors, including a shared rooftop.
