  • Assignments are open for citizens of European Union countries between 18 and 28 years
  • A VIE assignment will be in a country other than that of the candidate's nationality
  • Never have worked in Austria
  • Assignment lasts from 12 to 24 months, renewable once within a cumulative limit of 24 months
  • Compensation (non-taxable) linked to the cost of living index and set by Business France: 2 820,67 € per month in Austria (update 1st of January 2024)
  • Set up by public sector statute in France, managed by the Business France organization
  • International social protection is extended to eligible parties
  • 2.5 days of holiday per month
As a Control System Engineer / Software Engineer you will manage the various stages of vehicle control and information system engineering, starting from bid activities, function and software architecture specifying, designing, commissioning and testing. This involves the LRV's control system (e.g. braking, propulsion, safety data recorder, lighting, obstacle detection, etc.) including subsystem interaction and subsystem functions. At the same time - and since an LRV is a complex assembly of mechanical, electrical and electronic components - it always keeps in mind Customer Requirements, standards and regulations and makes maximum use of AT's standard building blocks.There are strong interfaces with Operability, System Architecture, Safety, RAM-LCC, and Mechanical and Electrical Engineers for you to discover and support.Your Role:
  • Manages and traces customer requirements from the time of contract start to vehicle acceptance
  • Prepares design and architecture documentation
  • Issues documentation to customers
  • Manages activities within Control Engineering during a bid or a project
  • Supports Operations team in first manufacturing activities on a LRV
  • Supports Testing Team in the commissioning of TCMS (Train Control Management System) and functional integration
  • Supports Supplier interface test or TC&IS (Train Control & Information System) verification test
  • Issues documentation to acceptance authority
Competencies & Skills:
  • Bachelor/Master's Degree, preferably in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering
  • Software development background is a plus
  • Readiness to travel (mainly in the DACH region, up to several days)
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, German would be a plus

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
