Offer DescriptionDetailed characterization of infection processes on a molecular, cellular, organ-specific level to provide information about characteristics contributing to pathogenic effects in humans but not host species. This will be assessed by standardizing sophisticated in vitro barrier models of diverse species and studying viral/bacterial/fungal infections at entry sites on a molecular and cellular level. Understanding detailed mechanisms within various hosts will help identifying possible genes or proteins as well as restriction mechanisms in the human or animal system that can be targeted and potentially treated by new or already existing antimicrobial strategies.InfectiologyRequirementsResearch Field Medical sciences » Veterinary medicine Education Level PhD or equivalentSpecific RequirementsCompleted relevant PhD or doctoral studies
