As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Atominstitut, in the Research Unit of Cold Molecules and Quantum Technologies at the Technische Universiät Wien is offering a position as university assistant post-doc (all genders) until expected February 28th, 2029 for 40 hours/week. Expected start: October 2025.Tasks:
  • Conceive, design and perform novel quantum information / hybrid quantum system experiments, including the connection to theory and the publication of results in leading international journals.
  • Develop, implement and verify radical novel methods and concepts to probe and manipulate spins, atoms, molecules, etc … using hybrid quantum systems based on superconducting circuits.
  • Participate and contribute to the Viennese and Austrian Quantum science community.
  • Teaching and supervision of students
  • Willingness to contribute in interdisciplinary scientific projects
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks of the research division and the faculty
Your profile:
  • Deep interest in scientific problems and the motivation for independent and goal-oriented research in quantum science and technology
  • Completion of an appropriate doctorate and in-depth knowledge of quantum science and technology in the areas of quantum information, superconducting quantum circuits, and hybrid quantum systems
  • Experience in the supporting technologies like mK cryogenics, cryogenic micro wave circuits, micro wave and THz measurement techniques, design and fabrication of superconducting quantum circuits.
  • Experience in acquiring external funding and in running complex experiment/theory quantum science projects
  • Extended international research experience
  • Experience in national and international research cooperation as well as in project management and presentations
  • Experience in teaching and publication activities as well as interest and pleasure in research and work/support with students
  • Organizational and analytical skills as well as a structured way of working
  • Excellent command of the English language and very good communicative skills and team competences
