The School not only pools the strengths and expertise across both universities to address the pressing transformation issues of our time, but also aims to establish an interdisciplinary, future-oriented approach to education and research. We currently have an immediate job opening for a Senior Scientist (must hold a Diploma/Master's degree or a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree).Job Duties:
  • Participate in organizing and teaching at the Art x Science School for Transformation
  • Initiate, develop and launch innovative, externally funded projects and programs on a national and international scale focusing on interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches, art and science, culture, and creative industries
  • Network and support researchers during the application and processing phases
  • Coordinate ongoing European partnership projects
  • Hold courses (1 and/or 2 semester hours per week) as part of the School's degree programs (depending on prior qualifications, either a pre-doc or post-doc position)
  • Plan, devise, and oversee education, research, and innovative projects/programs at the School
  • Conduct and implement research projects
  • Be actively involved in the Art x Science School for Transformation's communication and public relations activities in support of projects
Your Qualifications:
  • The successful candidate must hold a Master's (Diploma) degree or PhD degree
  • Several years of professional experience in science/academia
  • Experience in initiating, applying for, submitting and overseeing research funding projects in Austria and in Europe
  • Strong proficiency in German, a good understanding of English (written and spoken, Level C1)
  • An outstanding social skill set, strong and articulate communication skills, the ability to mediate effectively
  • A structured and analytical approach along with the ability to work independently and implement ideas
  • A passion for art, science, and research with a focus on innovation and digitalization, an interest in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary activities, and a fascination for new technologies
  • The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel for business purposes
  • A sense of curiosity and inquisitiveness, and a willingness to continue learning
  • A high degree of enthusiasm, personal commitment, dedication, and strong sense of responsibility
  • Enjoy working effectively as part of a team and a strong social skill set
What We Offer:
  • On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week) the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 3,578.80 gross per month as a Senior Scientist holding a Diploma/Master's degree and € 4,752.30 gross per month as a Senior Scientist holding a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: B1)
