Our Real-Time Data Engineering team provides low-latency, high-throughput pipelines that serve operational and analytical use cases as well as front-end featuresWe are currently expanding our data ecosystem by integrating Databricks to complement our existing Cloudera infrastructure. To support this initiative, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in Databricks to join our team.We are a small, collaborative, international team that values humor, curiosity, and continuous learning.   • Design and implement robust, scalable, and low latency streaming and batch data pipelines using Databricks on Azure
  • You may also develop some real-time data pipelines using Cloudera tools such as NiFi, Kafka, Spark, Kudu, and Impala
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, third party tools, front- and backend engineers, and product managers to deliver reliable, high-quality data products
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in infrastructure, automation, observability, and deployment practices
  • Document as needed and share knowledge with other team members
  • Be part of a monthly on-call rotation (1 week per month) to support the stability of our real-time data infrastructure
Your profileRequired Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience with Databricks, including development of production-grade pipelines (streaming or batch)
  • Strong experience with the Azure cloud ecosystem, including Azure Data Lake and Azure DevOps
  • Experience working with real-time data technologies such as Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming
  • Familiarity with the medallion architecture and best practices for Delta Lake
  • Proficiency in Python or Scala for data engineering tasks
  • Proficiency working with SQL and query optimization
  • Willingness to be part of an on-call support rotation (1 week/month)
  • Fluent and comfortable in English (written and spoken)
  • Excellent communication skills (clear & to the point, audience aware)
Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience in developing data pipelines using the Cloudera stack is a huge plus
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows for data engineering (e.g., using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions)
  • Experience in online gaming, entertainment, or e-commerce industries
  • Knowledge of data governance, schema evolution and handling GDPR/data privacy in data pipelines
  • Understanding of observability tools for data pipelines (e.g., logging, alerting, and metrics systems)
