With your experience in mechanical design for transformers you will develop new solutions and support the further improvement of existing products. Your focus will be on mechanical design for components related to cooling including the use of CFD tools.Your new role as Development Engineer - Simulations for Heating & Cooling Wind Transformers (m/f/d) in Weiz - exciting and forward-thinking!How You'll Make an Impact
  • Analyze the existing and new technical requirements of the wind power business to inform design improvements.
  • Improve the mechanical design of wind power transformers to improve overall performance.
  • Conduct fluid mechanics simulations to optimize cooling efficiency.
  • Develop and integrate new cooling methods, including directed cooling, into transformer designs.
  • Document and specify parts, assemblies, or entire components, as well as prepare cooling concepts, including calculations and designs for specific components.
  • Collaborate with experts in heating, cooling, and simulations while supporting engineering departments in our factory and driving innovations with new insulation liquids.
What You Bring
  • A completed technical education (HTL, FH, TU) in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanical engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering, material science, or a comparable field is required.
  • Preferable professional experience includes mechanical design for transformers and thermal calculations.
  • Knowledge of CFD tools and their application in transformer engineering processes is essential.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools for heating and cooling calculations, along with current standards and customer requirements for transformers, is expected.
  • The ability to work independently while growing in a distributed team environment remains crucial.
  • Proficiency in English is necessary, and knowledge of additional languages, particularly German, is advantageous.
