Then join our accomplished team!Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsSpecific RequirementsYour personal sphere of influence:The Department of History of Christianity and Protestantism in Austria is a sub-unit of the Faculty of Protestant Theology. The vacant position as university assistant (praedoc) serves to strengthen our teaching and research portfolio. We are looking for Protestant theologians with a special interest in working on research questions regarding the History of Christianity.Your future tasks:You will play an active role in the research, teaching and administration of the Institute, i.e:
  • You will be involved in research projects and publications regarding the History of Christianity.
  • You will work on and complete your dissertation regarding the History of Christianity. We expect you to complete your dissertation agreement within 6-12 months.
  • You will participate in doctoral seminars at the Institute.
  • You will teach independent courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement.
This is part of your personality:
  • Completed Master's degree in Protestant Theology or a corresponding degree (the degree certificate must be available by the date of employment at the latest)
  • A keen interest in the History of Christianity, a focus on the Early Modern Age is desireable
  • The willingness to attend and organize national and international conferences and to work in a team
  • A thorough and thoughtful approach
  • Advanced IT user skills

The duration of the contract is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to a total of 4 years if the employer does not submit a declaration of non-renewal within the first 12 months.
